critic reviews

87/100Neal Martin,Vinous

The 2015 Le Dragon de Quintus has an autumnal bouquet with brambly red fruit, horse chestnut and smoky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins. This is savory in style with an almost Pessac-like, graphite-infused finish. I would drink this sooner rather than later.

Vivid ripe berry fruit character with plenty of toasted cumin spice, bitter orange rind kick, enjoyable, flash of heat, supple tannins, ready to drink. 38hl/h yield 33% new oak.

89/100Lisa Perrotti-Brown,The Wine Independent

The 2015 Le Dragon de Quintus is medium to deep garnet in color. It features intense, expressive scents of kirsch, black raspberries, and spice cake with wafts of tobacco leaf and new leather. Full-bodied, the palate has a sturdy structure of chewy tannins and just enough freshness to support the savory flavors, finishing a little warm and firm.

Composed of 76% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 le Dragon de Quintus reveals a medium to deep garnet color with notes of crushed black currants, black cherries and mulberries plus touches of garrigue, dried herbs and rose hips. Medium to full-bodied with loads of juicy black fruit and earthy layers supported by ripe, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, it finishes with great persistence.
