A delicate aromatic quality here, with fine red fruit, touches of spice and rosehip. This is a truly lovely Mercurey, supple, gentle, engaging, with notes of mountain cherry and sweet meadow herbs. Precocious, pinpoint and pretty. A cuvée that seems to get better and better with every passing year. A 1.81ha parcel situated at the top of a steep east-facing slope. De-stalked and aged in oak barrels for 12 months followed by 6 months in tank.

The 2021 Mercurey Sazenay 1er Cru has an attractive raspberry and cranberry-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly "furry" tannins and modest depth with a strict, transparent finish. This Mercurey has pedigree.
