A Pinot with impressive structure and minerality, the 2022 Abtsberg displays brambly dark hue with a touch of slate and salt, a good, concentrated feel and veins of dark plums. Ripe tannins with a black cherry dominated palate leads into gratings of coffee bean and light toast on the finish. Fully destemmed and aged for a total of 20 months in 2nd use French barrique with a light toast.

The Grunhaus 2022 Herrenberg GG is a classic, discreetly scented Ruwer Riesling. Delicate, playful and light on its feet, this elegant, Kabinett-like wine may not be a typical grand cru for heavyweight drinkers, but that's just the way the Ruwer can be: graceful and fine rather than powerful. Tasted in Wiesbaden at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewachs in August 2023.

The 2022 Riesling Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Grosses Gewächs comes with a yeasty, creamy nose with a touch of apricot. The palate is very fine, very precise, and chiseled with lemon. Concentration again spells white miso savoriness and stony austerity, shimmering with riper fruit but then focusing relentlessly on the lemon drive. The finish is wonderfully dry. (Bone-dry)
