Tasting Note:
This has been one of the stand-out values from Bordeaux in recent vintages. On current form this would certainly be worthy of an 1855 classification. The 2020 is very impressive indeed. The nose screams of classy Cabernet fruit: pure cassis, lots of graphite and minerals infused with meadow flowers, brooding and intriguing. The core is packed with pure small berry fruit – it’s seriously intense, focused, bright, vivid, this is a wonderfully refined Meyney with real length and gravitas. It is sure to be one of the best value wines of the vintage! Fresh, detailed, serious – a profound Meyney.

"The 2020 Meyney has a lively, quite powerful nose delivering plenty of blackberry, boysenberry and briar scents, plus touches of freshly tilled loam and wilted iris flower; I appreciate how forthright this is. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins and graphite-laced blackberry. Quite citric toward the finish, showing Pauillac-like pretentions.
