Château Pibran, currently managed by Jean-Michel Cazes of Lynch-Bages, is known for producing wines with notable complexity, weight, and concentration. The estate covers 9.5 hectares of vineyards situated on a well-drained gravel rise, adjacent to those of Mouton-Rothschild, Lynch-Bages, and Pontet-Canet. The vineyard is planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.
The wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at Pichon-Baron and is aged for 12-15 months in barriques, with 50% of these being new. Although classified as a cru bourgeois, Château Pibran now produces wines that rival those of many higher-ranked estates.
