Tasting Note:

Wine maker Philippe Moreau believes that part of the success of St Estèphes in 2002 is due to the clay subsoil of the appellation. During the dry summer and September it retained enough moisture for the vines to drink – allowing full phenolic ripeness, as well as sugar ripeness . Bright purple colour, excellent ripe berry fruit, spice, dark chocolate and cigar aromas. Big structure, firm tannins and plenty of dark fruit flavours.
