Notes

Denis Durantou's 'entry level' wines, that is to say the wines not produced at his flagship Pomerol estate, Chateau L'Eglise Clinet are always rank amongst our 'best value' buys. Saintayme, Chenade, Cruzelles and Montlandrie offer excellent value for money. Denis describes 2018 as a 'Révolutionnaire'. It's a big change at the Durantou estates as Denis has retired from winemaking. It's been an extraordinary run with many exceptional wines, but all good things must come to an end. Montlandrie has been a particular labour of love for Denis. We remember when he bought these vines and have watched with interest as he planted his 'Ferrari' Cabernet clones and seen the quality soar. Produced from 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 possesses wonderful texture and intensity. Fine, long and detailed, there is beautiful clarity to this Montlandrie with noble flavours of cassis, gravel and violets.

Notes
Montlandrie 2018 has a deep garnet purple color. It opens with vibrant scents of wild blueberries, kirsch, and black raspberries, plus hints of roses and wild sage. Medium to full-bodied, the structured palate is firm and grainy, with a rugged finish.
