Lieser Niederberg Helden, Riesling, Auslese, Goldkapse, 2012

The only Langhe Goldcap wine Thomas Haag made in 2012 shows more obvious botrytis character, alongside the typically earthy, powerful character of the Niederberg Helden vineyard. The nose is expansive, opulent even with sweet golden raisins, fresh and dried apricot, ripe pineapple and mango. On the palate the botrytis seems finer and fresher, really clean and pure with gorgeous yellow fruit flavours of fresh mango, mirabelle, fresh apricot and physalis.
