Nebbiolo

Barolo, San Rocco, 2013

Tasting Note:

Bigger and butcher than the Margheria, sweet dark hedgerow fruits, strong liquorice flavours and warming notes of creme de mure and kirsch, hints of earth and cinnamon. Denser than Azelia's other wines and less immediately expressive, there is great intensity but the multi-layers of flavour will need time in bottle to unravel and reveal themselves. The vines are 60 years old and the wine is aged in the same way as the Bricco Fiasco, for 24 months in 10% new oak barriques.
