Tasting Note:

After the darker Bricco Viole, this is a return to the red fruit nose more typical of wines from La Morra. Complex but with some allure now already, sweet and freshly-scented red berries mixed with woody spices. The palate is gripping, crisply-defined and tense yet there is a certain warmth and generosity, too. Captivating and moreish and brilliantly complete Barolo of both force and finesse. One of the top Cru vineyards of Barolo, situated high up in the La Morra commune. Marengo's parcel of Brunate is at 350 metres altitude has been owned by his family since 1903 and the vines average seventy years old. Aged in 25% new oak barriques for 24 months.
