    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

The estate’s oldest Carignan goes into this wine, a large proportion originally planted in 1902. The blend is 55% Carignan, 45% Grenache. As you would expect less open than Salanques, brooding and strict but not without intensity class or even a certain charm, this is a composed Priorat of great pedigree, juicy, tight bursting fruit flavours of redcurrant, blueberry, bilberry and plum stone with bright notes of mineral and rock salt.

(50% carinena, 48% garnacha and 2% merlot) Vivid ruby. Extremely fresh, expansive aromas of raspberry, candied rose, Asian spices and minerals. Pure and mineral-driven, with sweet red fruit flavors and a lashing of minerality that adds lift and clarity. The floral and spice notes resonate on a very long, juicy, incisive finish, which also features a touch of white pepper. This was aged in 100% new French oak, but I barely detected it. The importer says most of these vines were planted in 1912.
