    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Soft, broad and berryish. Clear, clean and sweet ripe fruit flavours of bramble and plum with a salt-flecked finish. Engaging and attractive if not very complex. A crowd pleaser. Beautifully made. A blend of 30% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Cinsault and 30% Mourvèdre from a plot of vines adjacent to Beaucastel on the east side. The vines therefore fall just outside of the Châteauneuf appellation but the soil structure is very similar to that of the poor, pebbly, clay-influenced vineyards of Beaucastel.

Tasted as a sample blended from several foudres, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet de Beaucastel features scents of sun-warmed stones and ripe raspberries. Medium to full-bodied, it's plush and open-knit, already giving a lot of pleasure, and finishing zesty and long.
