Tenuta delle Terre Nere

Grape Variety:

Nerello Mascalese

Etna Rosso, Guardiola, 2017

Tasting Note:

A savoury nose. Intensely mineral and austere initially but it has a wonderful balance. Firm but not drying. Wonderfully lifted acidity, stony and mouth-watering. Crunchy dark fruits but very much rocky and mineral in style. Structured, crisp and with a clean pure finish. Superb. The estate's highest vineyard ranging from 800 to 1000 meters above sea level. The vineyard is sheer, craggy and packed with stone and volcanic sand, the soil is poor. Ageing is for 18-20 months in a mixture of barriques, demi muids and large barrels of used wood.
