Tasting Note:

A very precise wine that mixes dark, suave, small berry fruit flavours with tight-knit mineral, salty characteristics. Notes of damson and liqueur fruits too add some generosity to what is a very precise, clear and crisp wine. Sumptuous yet weightless and crystal clear. Top notch. From some of Mathieu's highest vineyards including Arlettes and parts of les eygats, at 370 metres altitude, the name Billes Noires or ‘Black Marbles’ refers to the consistently tiny grapes that this single vineyard produces. They are the estate’s highest vines, the soils here are shallow, very well drained and yields are extremely low.
