Tasting Note:

A third, new vineyard forms part of the blend for the Chenin Blanc for the first time in 2020. Now comprised of 70% granite and 30% iron-rich soils, the 2020 has an incredibly detailed, fine and chiselled profile with beautifully ripe lemon, greengages and grapefruit. Just a trace of supporting old oak texture and mealy, salty savoury dimensions on the finish, this is Jolandie’s most sophisticated Chenin to date. Produced from three old vine Swartland sites aged 39, 40 and 49 respectively, this is moderate alcohol high intensity, high quality Chenin at its finest. Picked kept in a cool room overnight, whole cluster pressed, settled naturally and then racked in to used French oak where each component is fermented and matured separately before blending after 10 months.
