Tasting Note:

Produced from 40.8% Merlot, 7.6% Cabernet Franc and 51.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Chapelle de la Mission is rather serious and brooding effort. With aeration there are some glorious aromas of dried flowers, stones, perfumed cassis, pencil shavings and pure raspberry. There is wonderfully dark gravelly fruit on the palate, lots of bramble and cassis interspersed with savoury notes, dried meats and stones. This is unquestionably a large scale and impressive Chapelle, possibly one of the best we have tasted, with plenty of concentration and beautifully managed tannins that coat the palate with chalk and pure berries. Impressive!
