Tasting Note:

The first vintage to be vinified in the new Barton winery, although it doesn't appear to be open for visitors yet… We had to trek to deepest Moulis to taste the 2021. This feels like a big step up from Langoa. Smokey notes of tobacco, earth and Asian spice. Whilst there's noticeably more concentration, this is definitely not a blockbuster Barton. Refined, pure, seductive berries, very engaging and pretty. Lots of detail, waves of leafy cassis fruit and gentle minerals, this feels complete and beautifully judged with sweet, powdery tannins. This should be a lovely mid-term Leoville Barton. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
