The 2022 Pibran is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it gives up notes of black cherry preserves, baked plums, and mulberries, leading to hints of charcoal, black olives, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate has a sturdy frame of chewy tannins and plenty of freshness supporting the generous black fruits, finishing with a red berry lift.

The 2022 Pibran is matured in 40% new oak. It has quite an opulent bouquet, perhaps with just a touch of sur-maturité, a very slight fig note that might well be subsumed during the barrel maturation. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Quite a solid Pibran, plenty of freshness on the finish. This is a Pibran that will require 3-4 year in bottle.
