Tasting Note:

More intensely fruity and powerful than the Côte Rôtie blend, floral ripe berry fruits mixed with mineral and rock salt notes. There is substance here but a wonderful poise to it as well. Once part of the classic Côte-Rôtie blend, La Viaillère is a fine, south-facing, early ripening vineyard site. Now that Clusel-Roch's vineyards are 29-years-old they are starting to produce outstanding wine and as such Clusel Roch decided, as of the 2009 vintage, to bottle it up as a separate cuvée.
