Tasting Note:

Offering a quality level in between Samt & Seide and Ried Spitzerberg, the Ried Roterd is too a selection of Blaufrankisch parcels from the central part of the Spitzerberg on clay and stony soils, aged in large oak for 20 months before bottling. Fresh, sappy aromatics, bright acids counterbalance full bodied, enveloping notes of forest fruit, cranberry and dark cherry. Fine boned chalky tannins speak to the quality of the terroir and gentle extraction practices, finishing nicely mineral as well as fruity. An accomplished and downright delicious Blaufrankisch wine.
