Tasting Note:

With its floral charm, electric energy and finely-etched but binding structure this is a true all-rounder. Exemplary Volnay that offers fruit blossom and violet aromas alongside cool, fresh black and red cherry flavour notes with touches of cherry stone and salt. The mineral component is distinctive but melds well with the perfumed yet sapid fruit. Like the Mitans this is fermented only with whole bunch, the ageing is with a shade more new oak (approximately 40%) but this is barely discernible, it’s just a fundamentally different wine with a strong terroir character. Taillepieds has gravelly top soil over limestone resulting in tight-grained powerful wine. These are the domaine’s oldest Volnay vines, 60 years-old.
