From the off this screams Martha's vineyard - cool aromas of rosemary, mint and wild berries, then blueberries, hot stones and iron. Such a distinctive, delineated nose, unfurling all the time - and time it needs. The palate is infused with a sense of stony tension as cassis and wild plums meet fresh tea and wild flowers. A day later and a sense of classical sweetness appears on the mid palate, fleshing things out and providing some release from the tension. Exceptional freshness permeates this wine, underpinning the wild yet pure flavours; a crisp acid profile that will hold this aloft for decades. This is truly a long distance runner.
