    A small cuvée in the most bumper of years, in 2012 just three barrels of this were made. Deep bright crunchy fruit notes of small concentrated berries, plum and cherry, tense and with a faintly austere edge that makes it incredibly moreish. Richer hints of griotte add a shade of roundness to the wine but it remains high-toned, taut and juicy. Superb.

    (vinified with 25% whole clusters): Medium red. Sexy nose combines raspberry, truffle, crushed stone and smoky minerality. Supple, silky and fine-grained, offering a showy combination of fresh raspberry, mineral and earth qualities. This very dense Petits Monts finishes with suave, fully buffered tannins and terrific subtle length. A beauty in the making, but give it time.
