La Clotte, St Emilion Grand Cru, 2018

Tasting Note:

La Clotte comprises four hectares of vineyards spread over the south facing limestone hillside at the south east of the village. Produced from 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, this possesses much more muscle and depth than the Moulin St Georges. It's a big step up with more freshness and length. A fragrant and quite exuberant bouquet of kirsch, flowers, black cherry and minerals. The palate is awash with notes of cherry and dark chocolate, then finishes with graphite, griotte and salted berries on the detailed tannins. Seductive, fresh and engaging.
