    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Clearly rich and ripe, but at the much finer and silkier end of the 2019 spectrum. This oozes class. Silky golden, ripe fruit seamlessly paired with intense lemon zest notes. This is fluid, stylish and sophisticated, offering layers of flower, acacia and stone fruit all neatly thread together by a refreshing acidity. Such a great combination of ripeness length and energy. A prestigious bottling produced from start to finish by Drouhin, but the vines themselves have been owned by the Laguiche family since the French Revolution. Aged in less than a quarter new oak barriques.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru (Marquis de Laguiche), which went through complete malo, has an almost feisty bouquet of lemongrass-tinged tropical fruit that sports just a tiny reduction. The palate is very well balanced, and a striking line of acidity imparts great tension. Quite complex on the finish, this offers appealing ginger and apricot notes on the aftertaste, plus the sapidity to encourage you back for another sip. Excellent.
