Tasting Note:

Alain Vauthier’s flagship wine in 2007 is as good as it could possibly get. It is a deep and brooding wine of great intensity that is tightly wound now but is ready to explode with thrilling results when it reaches maturity. Ripe, intense and classy on the nose, packed with confident blueberry, bilberry and fruits of the forest; on the palate the excitement continues, with layers of richness and power, cloaked in dark berries and softer red fruits. Tannins are beautifully managed, structured and prominent yet smooth, and secondary flavours of spice and minerals linger on a finish that shows great poise and composure. An outstanding wine that is fashioned from a blend of 45% Merlot and 55% Cabernet Franc.
