Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Château Moulin St Georges, St Emilion, 2005

A tightly wound nose of blackberry and earthy spices, intermingled with blackberry fruit and herbs. A creamy texture on the palate, with high alcohol and lively morello cherry fruit, beautifully ripe tannins from new oak. A great value wine.

Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Good deep red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of currant, licorice and minerals. Broad, fresh and mouthcoating, with a juicy quality to the dark fruit, minerals and sweet oak flavors. Finishes broad, with lovely floral persistence. Not especially complex yet but offers a light touch and excellent energy for the vintage.

Château Moulin St Georges

Château Moulin St Georges

Alain Vauthier and Gilles Pauquet produce Moulin St Georges from the clay and limestone slopes directly to the east of Chateau Ausone. These vineyards don't enjoy quite such an auspicious aspect as Alain's flagship property, but they are capable of producing excellent wines at a fraction of the cost.
