    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Chateau Teyssier is now one of the largest estates in St Emilion. Spread over many plots, with diverse terroir, it is always a crowd pleaser and always offers good value for money. Recent efforts such as the 2009 and 2010 have been awarded 92/100 by Robert Parker; not bad for a wine that costs about £10 a bottle en primeur! A dense, brooding nose with spicy, smoky, earthy notes and forest fruits. The palate possesses lots of depth, refreshing acidity and crunchy, red and black fruit, mineral touches and refined tannins. This is already very approachable and will be perfect for drinking in three or four years’ time. 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. 12.8% alcohol.

Teyssier offers a soft, easygoing, consumer-friendly style of St.-Emilion that is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc in it. The wine exhibits berry fruit, herbs, spice, moderate concentration and light tannins. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
