    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Hard hit by frost, so only a mere nine barrels were made out of a potential 25. Intense, tight-knit crisp, crunchy red berry and cherry fruit. A Marsannay of intensity and velvet structure, punctured by an edge of flint. Very serious indeed. A great Marsannay vineyard on poor soil, situated mid slope, that is one of the prime candidates for elevation to Premier Cru status, a process Marsannay vignerons have got well under way.

    Stephen Tanzer,
    Vinous
(losses to frost were only 30% here, vs. 80% for the Grasses Têtes): Good dark red. Very ripe aromas of black cherry and mocha. At once sweeter and sappier than the Grasses Têtes, offering noteworthy concentration and definition to its juicy dark fruit flavors. Showing much more early personality too. Finishes with serious but pliant tannins.
