    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Considerably more brooding and muscled than the Cerequio, this is hugely powerful and profound but will require a decade or two to reveal its full potential, intense earthy, autumnal flavours of dark hedgerow fruit infused with notes of Asian spice, undergrowth, herbs and cinnamon, despite the robust structure the finish boasts haunting clear flavours of sweet and spicy fruit. Monumental. Situated in La Morra at between 250 and 400 metres above sea level, facing east and south-east, this is one of the highest vineyards in the area that produces powerful, complex and very complete wines. Only 200 cases are made.

The 2010 Barolo Brunate is incredibly silky and polished in this vintage. Pine, menthol, licorice, black cherries and plums flesh out in a dark, gorgeous Barolo loaded with class and elegance. The Brunate can sometimes be a bit hulking in style, but in 2010 it is incredibly refined. The 2010 boasts striking depth, power and richness.
