The final blend will be dominated by 75% Grenache and 15%-20% made up of Mourvèdre and Syrah. Brooding wild berry fruits abound here, notes of clove spice red and black cherry, exquisitely fine tannins and a lovely racy red fruit freshness, clearly a dense powerful wines that nonetheless retains hallmark Clos des Papes gloss.
