Pinot Gris, Altenbourg, 2015

Tasting Note:

A complex but enormously pleasing cuvee that opens with a languid notes of cooked strawberry, mango and rose petal, all silky elegant opulence on the palate, but given backbone and structure by the alcohol and acidity, as flavours of rose, clove, cool spice and quince release across the palate. Altenbourg is a fine limestone based vineyard excellent for Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. It is situated directly below Furstentum, not officially designated Grand Cru, but almost certainly GC in quality.
