Tasting Note:

The Vecchie Vigne is a blend of old vines from Rocche and Giachini aged in more new oak than for the regular Crus, about 75%. The 2000 displays all of the virtues and none of the vices of a hot vintage. Rich and voluptuous, this parades sumptuous blackberry and griotte cherry fruit with strong suggestions of cocoa, whilst boasting a coolness and complexity that can only come from old vines. A massive but wonderfully poised mouthful of a wine.
