Giuseppe Mascarello

Grape Variety:

Barolo, Monprivato, 2015

Tasting Note:

Lifted aromatics jump out of the glass. Surprisingly open and seductive at this early stage. Sweetly-scented and velvety in texture. Pristine bright, alpine pure fruit, notes of wild strawberry, raspberry and a hint of griotte. The fruit sparkles, jewel-like, through the generous warmth that characterises the 2015 vintage. Rounder and silkier than usual at this stage, forward but there is no denying its impeccable balance or character. A Castiglione Falleto vineyard that is one of the finest, most hallowed plots in the whole of Barolo. A steep south west facing vineyard with a very white limestone based soil that gives profound, mineral wines. Aged for 36 months in large oak vats.
