Intense and concentrated, this is a good quality Haut-Médoc, some creamy edging to the blueberry and blackcurrant fruit. Easy to recommend, with impact. 3.7ph. First year under new ownership of the Casteja family, as bought in June 2022 from the Bernard family, meaning they were present for part of the growing season and winemaking. Axel Marchal consultant.

Made from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Peyrabon is deep garnet-purple in color. It rolls out with expressive notes of blackberry preserves, warm cassis, and plum preserves, plus hints of damp soil and mossy tree bark. The medium-bodied palate is coated with ripe black berries and earthy flavors with a soft texture and lifted finish.

The 2022 Peyrabon has an attractive bouquet with blackberry and blueberry fruit, quite floral in style. The palate is slightly granular in texture, fine backbone, subtle mineralité and delicacy with a sense of brightness on its charming finish. Exactly what I want from my Haut-Médoc.
