    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
    Domaine de Cambes, Bordeaux, 2017

Domaine de Cambes 2017 is a delight. It has all the hallmarks of a Francois Mitjavile wine; it is fragrant, alluring and joyous. It isn't overly complex; this does exactly what it sets out to do, it gives pure unbridled pleasure with its aromatic fruit bomb of a nose, through its velvety texture and swathes of lavish fruit and onto its round and silky tannins. A wonderfully exuberant Domaine de Cambes.

The 2022 de Cambes, 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of blueberry pie, wilted roses, and chocolate-covered cherries give way to a background of charcuterie and mossy tree bark. Full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, the palate has a chewy texture and decadently spicy finish.

The 2022 Domaine des Cambes, from the Mitjavile family, has a very pure bouquet with blackcurrant, wild strawberry and cherry scents, again, very Burgundian in style. The palate is medium-bodied with an almost viscous entry, smooth and sensual, with white pepper and sage hints toward the finish. This 2022 is concentrated and a bit lascivious.
